Now celebrating 27 years in business, The Grand Ole Creamery (est. 1984) was the first retail ice cream parlor in St. Paul to manufacture and serve super-premium ice cream and other delicious treats, including our famous sweet-smelling, homemade, hand-rolled, malted waffle cones with a whopper in the bottom of each cone.
A favorite of Twin Cities' locals, the line forms out the door and down the sidewalk during beautiful Minnesota summers. We now have a location near Lake Nokomis off Cedar Ave to cool off at after a hot sunny day at the beach. Don't be intimidated by the line. It moves fast and eager ice cream eaters usually strike up interesting conversations while deciding which of the 31 flavors offered each day they're going to eat. You'll want to visit often as The Grand Ole Creamery manufactures over 200 different flavors like, "Black Hills Gold," "Cotton Candy," as well as their delicious "Sweet Cream" and other classic flavors.
Many awards have been bestowed upon The Grand Ole Creamery throughout our many years of serving the Twin Cities our original homemade ice cream; One of the Top Twelve Ice Cream Stops in the Nation by Saveur Magazine in 2005, named a top five ice cream shop in 2010 by the Hot Dish Blog from the City Pages, named one of top three ice creams in the Twin Cities by About.com in 2010, named a top 10 ice cream of 2010 by Urbanspoon.com, and named one of 10 best ice cream shops in 2011 by CBS.local.com.
